Indian Navy recruitment of musicians for Permanent Commission in Executive Branch

Eager to join the Indian Naval band? Find here details of the notification for recruiting musicians as Permanent Commission Musician Officers in the Indian Navy under the executive branch. Application should be submitted by 31/12/2013.

The Indian Navy invites applications from unmarried male candidates to join as Permanent Commission Musician Officers under the executive branch at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala.

Age: 21 to 25 years

Educational Qualifications: You must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognised university. You must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Professional Qualifications: You should have Grade-5 certificate course or above for Piano, from any of the recognised Board such as Trinity College of London, associated Board of Royal School of Music or London College of Music or Bangalore Conservatory of Music.

Musical Ability: You should have the skills to play a brass instrument such as trumpet/cornet, horn, etc or woodwind instrument such as Western Fluet, Clarinet, or any Bow instrument such as Violin, Viola, Cello. You must have a fundamental knowledge of the Pianoforte (mandatory). You should possess 1 of these Diplomas: (a) LRAM (b) ARCM (c) ATCL.

Experience: It is preferred that you be able to submit proof of experience in teaching music at a registered Music Academy/Institution.

Physical Standards: Minimum 157cms height with co-releated weight. EyesightL 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glass. You should not be colour blind or suffer from night blindness.

Selection Process: Short listed candidates will have to attend a preliminary interview at New Delhi. On qualifying, you will be interviewed by the Service Selection Board (SSB) at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore, followed by a medical examination at the nearest Service Hospital. The SSB Interview will be scheduled to between January to March 2014 & will be 2 stages.

Training will commence in July 2014.
